Firewall News

After a total of almost 3 years of development and testing finally we announce that the stable release 1.0.0 of the Kwickserver Firewall is available!

The Download is not at Sourceforge any more, because they do not want to host complete linux distributions any more. Old versions can be still downloaded there.

Be sure to have configured a correct nameserver in the settings of your Kwickserver Firewall! Some users did not change the default DNS server setting. This default DNS server does now not work properly any more so these users could not get updates from our update server.

The solution is easy. Go to Settings/Settings and configure the DNS server your provider told you to use in the section DNS Servers.

If you use Beta 1, you should reinstall your Server with Beta 2 immediately because of the SSL vulnerability of all Debian systems (Kwickserver is based on Debian). All VPN certificates could be weak and several other problems could occur.

As the update system of Beta 1 is unable to upgrade the firewall to a complete new version, you have to reinstall your server. From Beta 2 complete version upgrades will work.
